Movement has always
brought people together.

Bike rides become conversations. Yoga becomes community. Games become friendships.

We're creating a space where strangers become familiar faces and movement becomes an invitation to connect — with yourself, with others, and with this incredible island.

Our Story

A community-centered
movement project.

Vineyard Velo was born from a simple belief: life is richer when we move together. Whether you're stepping onto a yoga mat for the first time or finding your footing on a balance board, you belong here.

Our home is The Loft — a sun-drenched space above Edgartown Bike Shop, with old wood floors, bikes hanging from the rafters, and just enough room to breathe deeply and move freely.

Come for the class. Stay for the people.

The People Behind It

Jon Malone

Jon Malone

B.O.A.R.D. · Cycling · Core

In 1998, Jon started coaching in Boston as a personal trainer and indoor cycling instructor. Within three years he was coaching 18–22 classes a week, became a master trainer, and was fully immersed in the fitness and health community.

He has always blended his background as a bike racer, musician/DJ, and motivational coach into classes that meet the moment with a positive, introspective vibe.

His signature B.O.A.R.D. training was born from a simple desire: to become a better surfer before hitting the beach — and wishing the strength and balance were already there to catch that first wave. That mindset has always been at the heart of his coaching: build it before you need it.

Yoga · Mindfulness · Mobility

Lauren has spent years exploring the intersection of movement, psychology, and what it means to feel truly at home in ourselves. As a certified yoga teacher and mentor, she's passionate about creating spaces where people can slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with what matters.

Her classes weave together yoga, mindfulness, mobility, and nervous system awareness in a way that feels approachable, playful, and grounded. Whether you're a seasoned practitioner or stepping into a class for the first time, you'll be met exactly where you are.

At the end of the day, Lauren is simply stoked to create spaces where people leave feeling looser in their bodies and warmer in their hearts.

What We Offer

Find your practice.

01

Mobility & Meditate

Mobility · All Levels

Begin in stillness. Move with curiosity. Return to yourself.

This class opens with a grounding meditation to help you arrive in your body and notice how you're feeling. From there, we'll move into slow, intentional mobility work for the joints, spine, hips, and shoulders, exploring movement with awareness rather than force.

We'll close by returning to stillness, allowing the body and mind time to absorb the practice.

You'll leave feeling more spacious, steady, and present—with a little more ease in both your movement and your mind.

All levels are welcome. No previous mobility or meditation experience is needed.

02

Flow into Stillness

Yoga · Meditation · All Levels

This class offers an intentional rhythm of movement and stillness designed to help you return to center. We'll begin with gentle movement before gradually transitioning into longer-held postures, guided meditation, and spacious moments of rest.

03

Balance Board

Functional · All Levels

Find your center. This playful class uses a variety of balance boards to challenge your coordination, improve stability, and build confidence in movement. Equal parts practice and play, we'll explore balance as a skill that supports everything from riding bikes and surfing to everyday movement. Expect wobbles, breakthroughs, and plenty of laughter along the way.

04

Core

Strength · All Levels

A focused, accessible practice building the strength and stability that supports everything else you love to do. Through mindful core training, balance work, and functional movement, we'll develop the strength that helps you ride farther, move better, and feel more resilient in everyday life. Expect a thoughtful challenge that leaves you standing taller and feeling stronger from the inside out.

No experience necessary. Come exactly as you are.

Balance On All Rolling Devices

BOARD training is rooted in the movements that make surfers fluid and snowboarders fearless — but its benefits reach anyone looking to move through life with more confidence, strength, and ease.

The Goal

To help each participant reconnect with their athletic self — building confidence, mobility, and strength from the ground up.

The Approach

Using unstable training devices, balance-focused movement, and bodyweight conditioning, every session is custom-crafted to meet you where you are. You'll develop both static and dynamic balance by strengthening the neuromuscular connection between mind and muscle — the foundation of all great movement.

No experience required. Just a willingness to find your footing.
